Woman's throat slit body, knife recovered in Purbachal

Police recovered the throat slit body of a woman named Rani Begum (29) from the Gutiabo area of Sector No. 5 of Purbachal upazila in Narayanganj on Monday.
She is the daughter of Abul Kashem of the capital's Mohammadpur Geneva Camp.
Police said that at around 8 am on Monday, locals saw the throat slit body of a woman lying on the road in front of the Gutiabo Government Primary School in Sector No. 5 of Purbachal upazila. Later, they informed the police. On receiving the information, the police recovered the body and sent it to the Narayanganj General Hospital morgue for autopsy. At that time, a bloody knife was recovered from the body. The police believe that the miscreants slit her throat on the spot and dumped the body on Sunday night.
After recovering the body, the police, in collaboration with the CID and PBI, identified the woman using biometric fingerprints. Accordingly, the woman is the daughter of Abul Kashem of the capital's Mohammadpur Geneva Camp. Her name is Rani Begum.
Rupganj Police Station OC Liaquat Ali said that the body has been recovered and sent to the Narayanganj morgue. Preparations for the case are underway. Necessary action will be taken after a proper investigation.
