Sherpur District Primary School Gold Cup Football Final game held

On the occasion of celebrating the Youth Festival-2025 with the slogan 'Come change the country, change the world', the final game of the district-level competition of the Inter-Primary School Gold Cup Football for boys and girls has been completed in Sherpur.
The two final games were held on Saturday at the Shaheed Darog Ali Municipal Park ground in Sherpur.
In the final, Badategharia Government Primary School of Sadar Upazila emerged as the champion in the girls' category and Bashuralga Dakshinpara Government Primary School of Nakla Upazila emerged as the champion in the boys' category.
In the first final game, the last season's district champion in the girls' category, Badategharia Government Primary School of Sadar Upazila defeated Nakla Model Government Primary School by 2-0 goals. Acia Begum and Suravi Akhtar scored two goals for the winning team in the second half.
In the game, Badategharia Government Primary School attacked at every opportunity, but could not score any goals in the first half, so the game ended in a goalless draw. However, in the second half, they increased their attacking edge and won one-sidedly. Badategharia Government Primary School midfielder Maria Khatun was named the best player in the final, and Aisha Begum was named the tournament's top scorer and best player with 2 goals in two matches. Meanwhile, in the boys' category, Nakla Upazila's Basuralga Dakshinpara Government Primary School defeated the Tengarpara Government Primary School team of Sribardi Upazila by 5-0 goals to become the champion. Basuralga Dakshinpara Government Primary School dominated the game, but failed to score any goals in the first half due to failure in the attack. Midway through the second half, the tournament's best Shanto Mia scored a goal, and Tengarpara's defense collapsed.
The young footballers of Basuralga Dakshinpara Government Primary School, Nakla, left the field celebrating their 5-0 victory after striker Habib Mia scored a hat-trick and midfielder Junaid Mia scored a goal in the space of 7 minutes. Hat-trickman Habib Mia was named the Man of the Final and the highest scorer with 4 goals in two matches, while Shanto Mia was named the best player of the tournament.
At the end of the game, the chief guest, Deputy Commissioner Tarafdar Mahmudur Rahman, presented trophies, medals and crests to the winning and losing teams at the award ceremony. District Primary Education Officer Md. Obaidullah Shaheen presided over the award ceremony, and Deputy Commissioner Abdullah Al Khairum spoke.
Special guests were Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Rajib Ul Ahsan, Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Abdul Karim, Acting President of the District Football Association Syed Rabiul Karim Moni, General Secretary Hakim Babul, District Sports Officer Dhirendra Chandra Sarkar, Additional District Primary Education Officer Mostafizur Rahman, and various levels of primary education officers, teachers, sports organizers, school managing committee members, guardians and sports enthusiasts.
The guests later took part in a photo session with the little football players of the winning and losing teams.
Jointly organized by the District Administration and the District Primary Education Office, 5 champion boys and girls football teams from 5 upazilas of the district who are studying in primary schools participated in this football competition at the district level.
