Mini cold storage, 'Khamari App' to add new dimension to agriculture: Jahangir

Agriculture Adviser Lieutenant General (retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury today said that the initiatives of introducing mini cold storage and 'Khamari App' for farmers will add a new dimension to the country's agriculture.
Highlighting the topics on producing high yield in less agricultural land and preservation of perishable agricultural products, the adviser said, "The 'Khamari app' has been launched to spread modern and scientific farming management among the farmers. Mini cold storage has been constructed to preserve the vegetables and fruits produced by the farmers."
Jahangir was speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration of farmers' mini cold storage activities and 'Khamari app' at the Horticulture Center in the Rajalakh area in Savar.
He said 100 mini cold storages will be constructed across the country.
With Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture Dr Mohammad Emdad Ullah Mian in the chair, the programme was attended, among others, by Director General (DG) of the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) Md Saiful Alam and Tissue Culture Laboratory cum Horticulture Center Establishment and Development Project Director Talha Zubair Masror.
Later, the adviser inaugurated the farmers' mini cold storage and Khamari app and inspected the mushroom cultivation project in Savar.
