The National Gold Cup (Boys and Girls Under-17) Football Tournament was inaugurated in Kulaura, Moulvibazar.

The tournament was inaugurated by the chief guest Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Mohiuddin at Kulaura Government College ground at 11 am on Tuesday.

The tournament was organized by the upazila administration.

In his speech as the chief guest, the UNO expressed hope that the tournament would be successfully completed.

Tournament Management Committee Convener Principal Faizur Rahman Churuk presided over and under the direction of Committee Member Upazila Press Club General Secretary Nazmul Bari Sohel, Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Shah Jaharul Hossain, Acting Principal of Kulaura Government College Md. Abdul Hannan, former municipal councilor Joynal Abedin Bachchu, former general secretaries of Upazila BNP Redwan Khan and Shamim Ahmed Chowdhury, Nayeb-e-Amir of Upazila Jamaat-e-Islami Md. Zakir Hossain, UP Chairman Azizur Rahman Monir and acting chairman Ataur Rahman Atiq, student coordinator Nahidur Rahman spoke.

Among others, Upazila Youth Development Officer Abdul Baki, Headmaster of Nabin Chandra Government Model High School Md. Amir Hossain, Headmaster of Kulaura Girls High School Md. Abdul Matin, Former general secretary of Upazila BNP Badruzzaman Sajal, senior journalists M Shakil Rashid Chowdhury and Md. Khaled Parvez Bakhsh, Mainul Haque Pawan, Mahfuz Shakil, Mohi Uddin Ripon, Ani Chowdhury were present at the event. BNP leaders Abdul Moktadir Muktar, Delwar Hossain, one of the members of the game management committee Abdul Qayyum Mintu, Kawsar Ahmed Bappu, student coordinators Adnan Chowdhury and Zakir Ahmed, Arman Ahmed, Sheikh Badrul Islam Rana, Arian Riyad and others were present at the game.

A medical team including Dr. Sharmin Farhana Jerin, Resident Medical Officer of Kulaura Health Complex, was present.

A total of 14 teams, including 13 unions and 1 municipality of the upazila, are participating in the tournament. The final of the tournament will be held at the college ground on January 16 at 3 pm.
