A Dhaka court remanded Salman F Rahman and Zunaid Ahmed Palak for four days each in a case over the attempted murder of Dhaka College student Md Shamim during the anti-discrimination movement.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Imran Ahammed passed the order after police brought the two accused to court and requested a seven-day remand for each of them.
The case stems from a July 16 attack on a peaceful student rally at Dhaka College, where Awami League cadres allegedly fired on students, injuring Md Shamim with shrapnel. Shamim filed the case on November 28.
Salman and Palak were arrested in August, with Rahman detained in Sadarghat while allegedly attempting to flee, and Palak arrested from Nikunja the following day.
