Human chain protesting harassment by filing cases in Sonagazi

Locals have formed a human chain program in Sonagazi, Feni, to protest the harassment by filing cases against three youths, including an expatriate.
They held this program on Saturday afternoon at the invitation of the Char Darbesh Union Parishad of the upazila.
Local Jubo Dal leaders Mosharraf Hossain, Tipu Sultan, Mobarak Hossain, Rafiqul Islam, Ibrahim Emon, Lavanya Akhter and Sharmin Akhter among others spoke at the time. They said, Harunur Rashid Miyaji, son of Rafiqul Islam of Char Sahabhikari village of Char Darbesh Union, is a Saudi Arabian expatriate.
He returned to the country three months ago. He got married two months ago. Angered by the news of the marriage, the wife of his expatriate friend Nur Nabi Sagar claimed that he was having an affair. Later, he filed a case with Sonagazi Police Station on February 4 under the Women and Child Abuse Prevention Act and the Pornography Control Act, citing the incident of 2021. Harun and Shuvo were arrested by the police in that incident and sent to jail.
The locals alleged that Harun had been living in Iraq and Saudi Arabia for the past five years. As a trusted friend of Sagar, he used to help Sagar's family in every ups and downs. But two months after returning home from abroad and getting married, Harun, his brother and another friend were involved in a case filed by the friend's wife and were harassed, causing anger among the locals. The locals demanded a fair investigation into the case and justice.
