Upazila Awami League general secretary Anayarul Haque Sarkar Mintu won the post of chairman in the first phase of the 152 upazila elections of Nilphamar Dimla upazila parishad by a huge margin of votes.

He got 27 thousand 290 votes in this election. His nearest rival candidate Ferdous Parvez got 26 thousand 91 votes. Apart from this, the other chairman candidates, motorcycle symbol candidate Veer Muktijoddha Abdur Rahman got 9 thousand 595 votes and Cup Pirch symbol candidate Veer Muktijoddha Tabibul Islam got 9 thousand 690 votes.

Shri Uttam Kumar Roy Electric Bulb was elected as Vice Chairman by getting 23 thousand 531 votes in private results.

The closest rival is the candidate of Mike Prateek. Mofakkarul Islam got 18 thousand 206 votes besides Nirendra Nath Roy 5 thousand 400 votes in Tubewell symbol, Md. 3 thousand 255 votes for Abu Saeed aircraft symbol. Md. 16 thousand 828 votes in Swapan Tia bird symbol, Md. Hamider Rahman got 2 thousand 796 votes in Chashma symbol and Sujoy Kumar Roy got 1 thousand 527 votes in Tala symbol.

Ayesha Siddika was elected as female vice-chairman by receiving 53 thousand 69 votes in the Padma flower symbol through private results. The nearest rival duck symbol Mocha Jahanara Begum got 11 thousand 336 votes and Mocha Parul Begum football symbol got 6 thousand 390 votes.

Voting in Dimla Upazila Parishad elections was held through ballot paper from 8 am to 4 pm on Wednesday. Voters exercised their right to vote in a festive atmosphere in a peaceful atmosphere. Voters are happy to vote in a peaceful and festive atmosphere.

Various polling stations were visited, voters started coming to the polling stations from morning. As the day progressed, the voter turnout increased. However, the presence of female voters was more noticeable than male voters.

Four candidates contested for the post of chairman in the Dimla Upazila Parishad elections. They are Upazila Awami League Vice President Bir Muktijodha Tabibul Islam, Mujibnagar government employee and former Excise Commissioner Bir Muktijodha Abdur Rahman, Upazila Awami League General Secretary Anwarul Haque Sarkar Mintu and former Zilla Parishad member and Upazila Jubo League joint convener Ferdous Parvez.

A total of 74 thousand 647 voters exercised their right to vote in the first phase election held on Wednesday, May 8. Voting was held in 627 booths of 93 polling stations of 10 unions of the upazila.

The total number of voters in the upazila including one voter of the third gender is 2 lakh 27 thousand 970 people. Among them, the number of male voters is 1 lakh 15 thousand 379 and the number of female voters is 1 lakh 12 thousand 590. 32.74 percent female and male voters exercised their voting rights in the given results. Upazila Assistant Returning Officer Shubo Kumar Roy confirmed this information.
