The family of neo-Muslim martyr Omar Faruk Tripura, who was shot dead by terrorists in Rowangchhari, Bandarban, was gifted a pucca house for permanent residence by the Bandarban Foundation.
Maulana Abdul Hai Mohammad Saifullah handed over the keys to the house to the family on Sunday afternoon.
The Bandarban Foundation purchased the house along with 400 acres of land in the city's stadium area with the help of American expatriates. The wife and children of Shaheed Omar Faruk are happy to have a place to rest.
Among others present at the handover of the house were District Council Member Nasir Uddin, American expatriate Abdul Mannan Press Club Vice President Nasirul Alam, General Secretary N.A. Zakir and members of the Bandarban Foundation.
It is worth noting that on the night of June 18, 2021, terrorists took Omar Faruk Tripura out of his house in Rowangchhari and shot him dead. Shaheed Omar Faruk was a member of the Tripura community.
He converted to Islam with his family and later built a mosque in his own area. Some terrorists brutally shot him dead for building a mosque. Since then, his family has been living an inhumane life in different places.
