On the occasion of the 18th death anniversary of Shefali Ghosh, the regional song of Chittagong's Sur Samragni Ekushe medalist, tributes were paid by the Binoybanshi artist group at her tomb and portrait sculpture at her ancestral home in Kanungopara, Boalkhali, the artist's birthplace.
On Tuesday (December 31) at 10 am, a meeting was held on behalf of the folk cultural institution Binoybanshi Shilpi Gosthi at his tomb with a minute's silence and a brief discussion on his life work and tributes.
In the meeting, in the presentation of Biplab Jaladas, the founder general secretary of the Binoybashi artist group and in the brief discussion under the chairmanship of Anupam Barua Paru, teacher Pradul Kanti Dey, former chairman of Kanungopara village Subrata Biswas Sikkim and others participated.
At this time the speaker said Shefali Ghosh is the wealth of the nation. This wealth should be properly valued and cared for, only then the nation and the country will be prosperous.
We make a strong demand to the administration of Binoybanshi artist Group that there are three Ekushey Medal award winning artistes including Shefali Ghosh in Boalkhali, among them the famous Kabial Ramesh Sheel and the famous dhol player of the subcontinent Binoybanshi Jaladas.
