BNP files complaint against Hasina at ICT, alleging 848 activists killed in July uprising

Court Correspondent

BNP on Thursday filed a complaint with the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) against ousted dictator Sheikh Hasina and 500 others tied to her regime for their alleged role in the killings of 848 BNP members during the July-August uprising last year.

The party has also submitted a list of the deceased, audio and video evidence, and case documents of 84 lawsuits.

Salauddin Khan, the chief of BNP’s cell for gathering information for filing cases over the July uprising, filed the complaint.

On top of the prime accused Sheikh Hasina, the list of accused also includes former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, former law minister Anisul Haque, former information minister Mohammad A Arafat, and a number of high-ranking officials from the then police administration.
