Barishal Press Club election : President Khasru, General Secretary SM Zakir

Aminul Islam Khasru and SM Zakir Hossain have been elected President and General Secretary in the biennial election of the Barishal Press Club respectively on Tuesday.
Dainik Sangram's Barishal Bureau Chief Prof Aminul Islam Khasru became the president with 33 votes. His closest Nurul Alam Farid got 22 votes and Kazi Al Mamun got 19 votes. Vice-president Zakir Hossain and Humayun Kabir were elected with 63 votes and 62 votes, respectively. Their rival Zia Uddin Babu got 19 votes.
In addition, Dainik Matbad Editor SM Zakir Hossain was elected general secretary with a huge vote. He got 50 votes. His closest rival was Kazi Abdullah Al Russell. He got 22 votes. M Mofazzel became the assistant general secretary with 45 votes. His rival Lokman Hossain got 27 votes.
Earlier, voting began at 5 pm on Tuesday at the Barishal Press Club. It continued until 8 pm. Then the counting of votes began. Chief Election Commissioner Saifur Rahman Miron announced the results at around 10:30 pm.
Arifin Tushar was elected Literary and Cultural Secretary with 44 votes. His rival Sagar Vaidya got 28 votes. Khan Rubel won the Sports Secretary with 41 votes.
