Gana Sanghati Andolan holds public dialogue in Sylhet

Jonayed Saki, Chief coordinator of the Mass Solidarity Movement, said that the new political settlement means a state system where workers are guaranteed a dignified living wage and farmers are guaranteed a fair price for their crops. The identity of a citizen before the state should not be based on religion, caste or gender, but should ensure the equal dignity of all citizens.
He further said, "The fascist party is involved in a conspiracy to return to power. There is an attempt to create division and incite communal riots. We all have to be united and vigilant."
He spoke as the chief guest at a public dialogue organized by the Sylhet District Committee of the Gana Sanghati Andolan at the Shaheed Sulayman Hall of the Muslim Sahitya Sangsad on Monday at 3 pm demanding 'establishment of a new political settlement for the democratic transformation of the state'.
Chaired by Sylhet District Convener Nigat Sadia and moderated by Biswajit Debnath, the public dialogue was also addressed by Monir Uddin Pappu, member of the Political Council of the Mass Solidarity Movement, Julhasnai Babu, member of the Editorial Board, Junaid Ahmed, member of the National Council, Omar Faruk, Sylhet Divisional Coordinator of the Government College Private Employees Union, Mahmudur Rahman Wais, district organizer of the Bhashani Anusari Parishad, former associate professor of Leading University Md. Rashedul Islam, teacher of Lakkatura Tea Garden School Sabita Goyal, Tahmid Saki, on behalf of the students injured in the anti-discrimination student movement, various local political, social and cultural organizers, and leaders at the police station, union and ward levels.
