Upazila shutdown and highway blockade programmes will be observed if the transfer order of Amtali UNO Muhammad Ashraful Alam 's  is not withdrawn within 48 hours. 

On Wednesday, representatives of the anti-discrimination student movement made this announcement at the premises of the Upazila Parishad. At least two thousand students participated in this human chain.  

On December 11, 2022, Muhammad Ashraful Alam joined Amtali as Amtali Upazila Executive Officer. Since joining, he has been performing his duties honestly in all matters including the development of Amtali. With his work skills, he took a place in Amtali upazila's people's treasure. After the fall of the Hasina government on August 5, several influential leaders of the Upazila Awami League were in trouble. They pressured UNO Muhammad Ashraful Alam to act in their support. But UNO did not take them into account. 

The influential leaders of the Awami League were bent on it. Since then they have been trying to transfer UNO Ashraful Alam to another place. They managed to transfer the UNO by misleading the Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration. In an order signed by Deputy Secretary Aminul Islam on December 18, Amtali Upazila Executive Officer Muhammad Ashraful Alam was transferred to Comilla. When the news of this transfer order spread in Amtali upazila, common people got angry. 

 Since last Thursday , people of various professions, including freedom fighters of the upazila, have been holding a human chain to demand the withdrawal of his transfer order. Anti-discrimination students formed a human chain at the Upazila Parishad premises on Wednesday demanding the withdrawal of the UNO transfer order. A 48-hour ultimatum has been given to defy UNO's transfer order in the human chain. Upazila shutdown and highway blockade has been announced if the transfer order is not withdrawn within 48 hours. More than two thousand students participated in the human bond. Under the chairmanship of Amtali Upazila Anti-Discrimination Student Movement representative Mohammad Abdullah, anti-discrimination student movement members Maiti, Abid, Nabil, Redwan and Nirjana spoke. 

Speakers in the human chain said that Amtali UNO Muhammad Ashraful Alam is an honest officer. After August 5, some influential leaders of the upazila Awami League offered immoral work to the upazila executive officer. But as the UNO did not agree to their proposal, they were in trouble. After that, the vicious circle of Awami League tried to transfer UNO. They also said that the other upazila Awami League is still active. They want to interfere nakedly with the administration. They demanded that mmediately withdrawal of the transfer order.
