Attack on Prothom Alo's Chattogram Office foiled by police

An attempted attack on the Chattogram office of Prothom Alo was thwarted on Sunday (November 25) night, thanks to swift action by law enforcement.
The incident occurred around 8:45 PM near the city's Probortok Mor area. The matter was confirmed by Mohammad Solaiman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Panchlaish Police Station.
According to police and local sources, a procession of over 200 people gathered at Probortok Mor after marching from the city’s No. 2 Gate area. The demonstrators chanted slogans against Prothom Alo and The Daily Star.
The OC stated that upon receiving information that the crowd was heading toward the Prothom Alo office, a police team was immediately deployed to the scene, effectively preventing any untoward incident. Police are currently stationed near the office to ensure its security.
Senior Staff Reporter of Prothom Alo's Chattogram office, Gazi Firoz Shibli, remarked, "While the protesters chanted slogans on the street, they did not enter the office premises."
No arrests or detentions have been made in connection with the incident so far, and police remain on high alert to maintain order.
