Bangladesh University welcomed its new students for the fall semester with flowers.

On this occasion, an introduction meeting was organized for the new students at the permanent campus auditorium of Bangladesh University on Monday.

The president of the program, Acting Vice-Chancellor of Bangladesh University, Prof Dr. Md. Jahangir Alam, said to the new students, “There is no alternative to education and perseverance to acquire knowledge.” He praised the various facilities and amenities provided for education at Bangladesh University and urged the new students to utilize them.

The welcome speech was delivered by the Registrar of Bangladesh University, Brig. J. Md. Mahbubul Haque (Retd.), and the Secretary of the Board of Trustees of Bangladesh University, Eng. M. A. Golam Dastagir, were also present at the program. On behalf of the deans, the new students were welcomed by the Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics, Professor Dr. Md. Tajul Islam, Dean of the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Technology, Professor Dr. Nurur Rahman Khan, and the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Social Sciences and Law, Professor Md. Humayun Kabir. In addition, the heads of departments introduced their respective departments at the event. The new students also expressed their feelings at the event.

Senior Assistant Registrar Md. Mashiur Rahman informed the new students about the various rules and regulations of the university.

In his presidential speech, Professor Dr. Md. Jahangir Alam said that Bangladesh University believes in quality education. Bangladesh University has been established for the purpose of education through which they are able to build a bright life.

Other speakers at the event thanked the new students for choosing Bangladesh University for the most important degree in life. They said, many students have already taken up important positions in various institutions at home and abroad with degrees from Bangladesh University. This is not only the achievement of Bangladesh University but also the pride of the entire country. Students are our inspiration and Bangladesh University's dream and journey with them.

In the second part of the program, the Acting Vice-Chancellor of Bangladesh University, Professor Dr. Md. Jahangir Alam, distributed prizes among the winners of the recently held Kazi Azhar Ali Memorial Sports Competition.

A pleasant cultural program was presented in the last part of the program. Students, teachers, officials, employees and guardians were present at the freshman program. Incidentally, about 500 students admitted in the fall semester of the university participated in this freshman program.
