Banned polythene worth Tk 2.5 lakh seized, fined in Rajapur

1.8 tons of banned polythene worth around two and a half lakh taka has been seized and a fine of Rs 30,000 has been imposed in Rajapur of Jhalkathi.
On Monday (November 25) afternoon, polythene was seized and fined during a raid at Mother's Doa Recycle Colony in Medical Mor area of Rajapur.
Manager Md. Samrat was fined Tk 30,000 for not finding the owner of the establishment Abul Hossain during the raid. The seized polythene was taken to Department of Environment Barisal divisional office. The operation was conducted by Assistant Director of Jhalkathi District Branch of Department of Environment Anjuman Necha accompanied by Inspector Aminul Islam.
Anjuman Nesha, assistant director of the Jhalkathi district branch of the Department of Environment, said that 1.8 tons of banned polythene has been seized. The value of which is approximately more than two and a half lakh rupees. The manager was fined 30 thousand rupees for not finding the owner of the establishment.
