Two BNP leaders called a press conference in Rangpur's Pirganj Upazila's Madankhali Union on allegations of trade in BNP committees. Grassroots leaders and activists in the area alleged that the committee was formed in an undemocratic and intrusive manner with a Krishak League hybrid leader and Local leaders and activists have sought the intervention of BNP's central committee and divisional leaders to prevent trade in posts.

On Wednesday afternoon, at a community center auditorium in the city, former Pirganj Madankhali Union Chhatra Dal president and BNP leader Zahidul Islam said at a press conference that BNP leaders and activists have suffered a lot due to their involvement in BNP politics. On February 9, at the biennial council of Madankhali Union BNP, the leaders of the Upazila BNP suddenly announced the committee by appointing Shahjahan Ali, a hybrid leader who had infiltrated from the Krishak League, as the general secretary of the Union BNP. This caused a huge uproar throughout the Union and the Upazila.

It was informed at the press conference that during the Awami League government, Krishak League leader Shahjahan Ali had been controlling politics, including processions, meetings and giving money. After the sudden change of the situation, the party's abandoned and persecuted leaders were disappointed that he had managed the Upazila leaders and taken the post of general secretary of the Union BNP. It was informed that the district and upazila leaders would be responsible for any unpleasant situation if action was not taken against the infiltrators.

At the press conference, Chaitrakol Union BNP leader Mominur Rahman complained that if the election schedule for the formation of the Union Committee was announced, we would collect nomination papers as per the rules and seek votes from the voters. But mysteriously, the Upazila BNP leaders announced the names of their nominated candidates without taking votes in the ballot. This has created widespread anger among the leaders and activists. The press conference demanded that the undemocratically formed committee be canceled and the committee be formed through re-voting. Among others, Madankhali Union BNP activists Nur Alam, Ujjwal, Rezaul, Chaitrakol BNP activists Mizan, Anwarul and others were present at the time.
