
Using of low-quality construction materials on Rajarhat roads by LGED alleged

A written complaint has been made to the Kurigram LGED Executive Engineer in protest against the use of low-quality construction materials in paving the LGED road in Rajarhat, Kurigram.
On Wednesday afternoon, a jointly signed complaint was submitted to the LGED Executive Engineer through the Rajarhat Upazila Executive Officer through the Rajarhat Upazila LGED office. It has been learned from the Rajarhat Upazila LGED office that a contracting company named M/s.
Milon Construction is implementing the paving work of about one and a half kilometers of road from Kurarpar in Gharial Danga Union of Rajarhat Upazila to Riyadh Bazar at a cost of 1 crore, 31 lakh, 10 thousand 8 hundred and 30 taka. The complainant and organizer of the Rail-Naval Communication and Environmental Development People's Committee is Khandaker Arif.
He said, "It has been observed to us that the ongoing road paving work has not been carried out in accordance with the specific instructions of LGED, due to which the quality of bricks, edging, WBM and proper size have not been used, resulting in doubts about the sustainability of the work. I want the government to implement the instructions allocated in the public interest.
The charge sheet mentions taking action against the guilty parties including the contractor company, subject to proper investigation, and completing the work in a proper manner." Rajarhat Upazila LGED Acting Engineer Abdur Rashid Mondal said he has received the complaint. Kurigram LGED Executive Engineer Mohammad Yunus Hossain Biswas said he has seen the charge sheet, I am telling the Upazila Engineer that there are problems everywhere, you go and fix it now, if there is a little bit of 19-20, it will not be tolerated, if necessary, I will send people next week. Will action be taken if low-quality construction materials are used or not?" When asked, he said that action will definitely be taken.
