Seminar on AI held at NUST

A seminar on Artificial Intelligence Career and Higher Education was held at Noakhali University of Science and Technology (NUST) . The seminar was held at the seminar hall of the auditorium of the university on Friday afternoon with the participation of more than a hundred students and teachers.  The chief guest at the seminar was the Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Dr. Md. Ismail. The keynote address was presented by Artificial Intelligence Researcher Engineer Israfil Masum from America. The special guest was the Pro- Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Dr. Mohammad Hanif.  The event was presided over by IQAC Director Professor Dr. Asadun Nabi, and conducted by Additional Director Professor Dr. Muhammad Abdul Qayyum Masud.  The university administration expressed hope that this seminar will open new horizons for research and innovation on artificial intelligence, and create a smart learning environment. The administration also assured the students at the seminar that a lab on artificial intelligence will be set up at the university.  In his speech as the chief guest, the Vice Chancellor said, "AI will bring about many epoch-making changes in the world today. It will have a major impact on the garment sector, one of our main sources of export income. In particular, the unskilled population will lose their jobs. For this, we need to become more skilled. Our educational institutions are working towards that goal. They are producing skilled graduates. We need to focus on making our graduates world-class to face the challenges of the Fourth Industrial Revolution."
