Tourist bus accident injures 25, including women, children in Lama

A tourist bus lost control and collided with a tree on the Lama-Chakaria road in Bandarban, injuring 25 people, including women and children. The accident occurred on Thursday (3 April) morning in the Mirinja area of Lama Upazila in the district. 
 
With the assistance of locals, police and fire service personnel rescued the injured and sent them to Lama Health Complex and Chakaria Hospital for treatment.  
 
Police and eyewitnesses reported that the tourist bus was traveling from the Padua area of Lohagara Upazila in Chattogram to Lama in Bandarban. Upon reaching the Mirinja area of Lama Upazila, the bus lost control on a hilly slope and crashed into a tree, injuring 25 tourists. After receiving news of the incident, police and fire service members, with help from locals, rescued the injured and sent them to nearby health complexes for treatment. The injured include— Fazal Ahammad (43), driver Liton Das (43), Helal Uddin (35), bus helper Md. Amjad (33), Nizamuddin (58), Fahad (38), Tarin (7), Shahjada (32), Nazat Siddika (24). The names of the others have not yet been obtained.  
 
In this regard, the OC of Lama Police Station, Md. Tofazzal Hossain said,  after the incident, police, fire service personnel, and local people rescued the injured and sent them to the hospital. Among them, a seriously injured child was taken to Chattogram Medical College Hospital.
