A two-day seminar titled "Planning and Implementation of Publicity Activities" was held at a hotel in Sylhet, organized by the Sylhet District Information Office on the occasion of celebrating the Youth Festival. The closing ceremony of the seminar took place on Saturday. 

The chief guest at the closing ceremony was the Director General of the Department of Mass Communication, Faizul Haque. He said, “If we serve the people with integrity and courage, the country's development will accelerate. Efforts to motivate the public must continue through optimal use of limited resources. Being humane and working for others benefits the nation. We must stay up-to-date at all times. By increasing the use of modern technology in the workplace, government services can reach people more efficiently.” He also highlighted various strategic aspects of planning.

The keynote speaker at the seminar was Senior Information Officer of the Department of Information, Md. Salah Uddin. In his presentation, he discussed future work strategies, the power of youth, the industrial revolution, future employment, social change and expansion of public services, skill development in specific areas, and social justice.

Director Anusuya Barua of the Department of Mass Communication spoke about creativity, leadership, and the role of youth in volunteerism. Director Dalia Yasmin addressed youth perspectives and state communication strategies.

In his closing remarks, Sylhet District Information Officer Mir Mohammad Aslam Uddin emphasized the need for effective efforts in identifying and countering rumors. He said, “In the digital age, information spreads quickly, but so does misinformation or disinformation, often going viral. This leads to social confusion and unrest. Therefore, it is our responsibility to raise our voices against rumors, avoid believing any information without verification, and build an informed society.”
