Nine accused in discussed murder case of Moheshkhali sent to jail

The learned judge has sent nine accused in the murder case of Mohammad Shafi Ullah Shafi, the office secretary of the Moheshkhali upazila BNP, to jail on  Tuesday (when the accused surrendered to the court, the learned judge denied bail and sent them to jail at 1:30 PM.
 
After the fall of the fascist government on 5 August 2024, during a joyous procession organised by the Moheshkhali upazila BNP, office secretary Mohammad Shafi Ullah Shafi was attacked by lurking terrorists as he reached Baniya's shop on his way home around 11 PM, resulting in serious injuries. Injured Shafi passed away on 13/04/2024 at 2 PM while undergoing treatment at Chittagong Medical College Hospital for 8 days.
 
In that incident, on 18/08/2024, the deceased's father Kamal Pasha filed a case against 25 people, naming former MP Alamgir Farid as the first accused.
 
Three accused in the case, Mohammad Tarek, Mohammad Ansar, and Imtiaz, have been released on bail after serving 2 months in prison.
 
10 accused had obtained a road permit from the High Court for one and a half months. After the road permit expired, 9 accused - Arif, Babar, Nasir, Anwar Pasha, Osman, Belal, Amanullah, Bando, and Baitte - surrendered to the lower court in Cox's Bazar on 19 August 2025, when the learned judge denied bail and sent them to jail.
 
The family of the deceased stated that although the 9 accused have been sent to jail, the other accused are brazenly roaming around under the administration's nose and are continuously threatening us with murder, abduction, assault, and harassment through false cases.
