
Young man's body recovered from paddy field

Shyamnagar police recovered the body of Md Iqbal Hossain, 38, from a crop field in Shyamnagar upazila of Satkhira.
The body was recovered from the crop field of Akram Hossain of Gobindapur village in Kashimari union of the upazila around 12pm on Monday. He was the son of late Yaqub Ali Gazi of the same village. Locals said there were injury marks on the victim's body.
Shyamnagar police station OC Mizanur Rahman said: "It is believed that gunotars were spread around the crop field to protect it from rodents. The deceased had gone to the garden for a special reason. Later, he got entangled with an electric wire. It is believed that his leg was severed as he was struggling to survive.
The body has been recovered and sent for post-mortem, he added. A murder case has been filed. Legal action will be taken after the post-mortem report.
The body was recovered by Shyamnagar police.
