Protest by locking gate of Cumilla Education Board with demands in favour of students killed Milestone plane crash

Students have surrounded the Cumilla Education Board with various demands, including the disclosure of the correct names and identities of the students who were killed in the Milestone College accident, proper compensation to the families of students, and the resignation of the education adviser on Tuesday.
A protest procession started from Pubali Chattar in city and took up position directly at the main gate of the Education Board.
The students reached the board with the protest procession and first started chanting slogans, later at one point they locked the gate of the main building of the Education Board. Students from various schools and colleges participated in the procession.

At this time, the protesting students kept chanting various slogans with placards, banners and festoons in their hands. The board premises were filled with slogans like ‘Immediate punishment of the guilty’, ‘Give real information about the plane crash’, ‘Why the notice in the dark of night?’
Later, various demands were raised by the students. Their demands were, the resignation of the education advisor, the education secretary should step down from his post, the exact names and identities of the students killed in the Milestone College accident should be revealed, an accurate and complete list of those injured should be published, appropriate compensation should be given to the families of the killed students, the risky and old training aircraft used by the Air Force should be cancelled and modern and safe aircraft should be introduced.
Meanwhile, after about an hour and a half, the students unlocked the main building of the education board at 1 pm. Earlier, the parents and students who came to seek services were seen waiting outside as the gate was locked.
When asked about this, Cumilla Education Board Chairman Professor Samad Alam said, the students have verbally informed us of their demands. We have assured them that we will also present the demands to our superiors.
