
Yet another Tarikat Federation candidate stands aside from JS polls

Bangladesh Tariqat Federation candidate from Gazipur-2 (Sadar-Tongi) parliamentary constituency has announced to stand aside from the election battle.
Syed Abu Dawood Machnabi Haider, after withdrawing his candidacy, told reporters that he has chosen to step aside from the election as a show of solidarity with his party Chief, Nazibul Bashar Maizbhandari.
On Thursday, Maizbhandari, chairman of the religion-based party also a component of the AL-led 14-party alliance, withdrew his candidacy from Chattogram-2 (Fatikchhari) constituency.
After withdrawing his candidacy, he said he stood aside from the electoral race to pave the path of victory for the Awami League-backed candidate in the constituency.
Maizbhandari secured victories in the constituency during the 2014 and 2018 elections
The candidate said as the Prime Minister and 14-party Alliance leader Sheikh Hasina extended support for boat candidate in the constituency, it is his moral responsibility to show respect for her decision.
