Tarique Rahman providing rehab, legal assistance to rape victims twin sisters in Noakhali

BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has stood by the side of two twin sisters who were victims of rape in Kabirhat Upazila of Noakhali.
On Monday afternoon, leaders of the district BNP, lawyers, and DAB highlighted issues of social rehabilitation, security, legal, and medical assistance for the victim’s family on behalf of Tarique Rahman. A press conference was held at the auditorium of the Noakhali District Lawyers’ Association, chaired by Advocate Robiul Islam Palash, a member of the Noakhali District Oppressed Women and Children Legal Aid Cell.
At the press conference, the convenor of the district BNP, Mahbub Alamgir Alo, said that we have come forward out of social responsibility. For this, our leader Tarique Rahman, considering humanitarian issues, announced standing by this family.
Cell member Advocate Robiul Islam said at the press conference that he urged the Nationalist Lawyers’ Council to refrain from providing any kind of legal assistance in such cases. The Bangladesh Nationalist Lawyers’ Forum will not provide any legal assistance in this incident. Later, financial assistance was provided on behalf of Tarique Rahman with the support of DAB. On behalf of DAB, support for medical assistance will be provided to any victim through this cell in the future as well. For this, a 5-member cell of ours has worked.
Present at the time were Noakhali District BNP Joint Convenor Advocate ABM Zakaria, Member Secretary Harunur Rashid Azad, General Secretary of the District Lawyers’ Association Amirul Hossain Bulbul, President of Noakhali DAB Dr. Saiful Islam, General Secretary Dr. Monowar Hossain Talukdar, among others.
