World Environment Day observed in Faridpur with discussion, plantation

World Environment Day was observed in Faridpur on Friday through a discussion meeting, quiz competition, prize distribution and tree plantation program.
The event was held at 12 PM at the hall room of Central and South Bangladesh Children Development School, located at the Baptist Church Mission in Habeli Gopalpur area of the city.
The program was organized jointly by the 3rd Revised Project of Mobile Library, Countrywide and Bishwa Sahitya Kendra, Faridpur Unit. Library In-charge Md. Asadul Islam chaired the discussion session.
Speakers at the event were Mofiz Imam Milon, noted writer and researcher,
Farah Diba Ahmed, Cultural personality,
Mahbub Hossain Pial, General Secretary, Faridpur Press Club, Birbol Baidya, Manager, Baptist Church Mission and
Meena Majumdar, teacher
Speakers discussed the importance of environmental conservation and urged students to play an active role in protecting nature and combating climate change.
A quiz competition on environment was held among students. Winners were awarded valuable books and saplings as prizes to encourage reading and green initiatives.
After the discussion, guests along with students planted saplings on the Baptist Church Mission premises.
The event concluded with a call for collective efforts to build a greener and cleaner Faridpur.
