DU champions in Inter-university Karate Competition

Dhaka University emerged as the champion in the inter-university karate (student-female) competition. Jagannath University was the runner-up in the male category and Chittagong University was the runner-up in the female category. The day-long competition was held at the central playground of Dhaka University on Monday with the slogan "Friendship in the University Playground".
In the student group of the karate competition, Dhaka University won 05 gold, 01 silver and 06 bronze medals. Jagannath University won 02 gold, 02 silver and 3 bronze medals.
In the female group, Dhaka University won 06 gold, 02 silver and 05 bronze medals. Chittagong University won 01 gold, 01 silver and 01 bronze medal.
Yesterday morning, Dhaka University Pro-Vice Chancellor (Admini) Prof Dr. Mohammad Almojaddidi Alfesani inaugurated the competition as the chief guest. After the competition, Physical Education Center Advisor Professor Dr. SM Mostafa Al Mamun distributed prizes among the winners. The prize distribution ceremony was presided over by Dhaka University Judo and Karate Committee President Prof Dr. Upma Kabir. At that time, Dhaka University Judo and Karate Team Manager Prof Dr. Mohammad Kamruzzaman, Acting Director of Physical Education Center SM Zakaria and Judo and Karate In-charge Nayna Chowdhury, along with teachers and students, were present.
