Woman killed over land dispute in Durgapur, 15 arrested

Two separate cases have been filed in connection with a clash between two parties over a land dispute in the Tiorkuri area of Deluabari Union in Durgapur Upazila, Rajshahi, in which a woman was killed.
Police arrested 13 people in connection with the murder and 2 people in an attempt to murder case and sent them to court.
On Saturday night, the deceased Ferdousi's brother Golam Mostafa filed a case with Durgapur Police Station naming 17 people and 10/12 unknown accused. The case is case no. 7
The police said that Ferdousi Begum was killed in a clash between two parties over a land dispute. In this incident, 15 people were arrested in a drive in the Tiorkuri area of the upazila on Saturday day and night in connection with the murder and attempt to murder cases.
The arrested were sent to jail by the Rajshahi learned court on Sunday morning.
Those arrested in two separate cases are Saidur Rahman (39), Mamunur Rashid Mamun (40), Zahid Hasan Paik (20), Sainul Islam (46), Nur Islam (55), Bilkis (48), Rajufa (58), Zayeda Bibi (60), Jahanara (65), Marjina Begum (30), Razia (38), Shabnur (26), Ratna (21).
Police also arrested Hannan (45) and Rabiul Islam (42), accused in an attempt to murder case filed in the same clash.
Durgapur Police Station OC Durul Hoda said, 15 people have been arrested in two separate cases. The arrested were sent to court on Sunday morning.
