Within two weeks of journalist torture Tala UNO transferred

Sheikh Md. Russell, UNO of Tala in Satkhira has been transferred to Rangpur division.
This order was issued in mem number 05.00.0000.139.19.009.24-154 signed by Deputy Secretary Md. Shahidul Islam by the President's order. He was punitively transferred to Rangpur division by the order. Although he is an Executive Magistrate, he is not in charge of the UNO.
It is mentioned that on April 22, at noon, journalist Roknuzzaman Tipu went to collect information about irregularities and corruption in the work of the Tala Upazila Parishad Complex building worth Tk 11.29 crore. At that time, Deputy Assistant Engineer MM Mamun Alam of the Tala Upazila Engineering Department refused to provide information and an argument broke out with the journalist. At one point, a scuffle broke out when the journalist asked him who he was to know the information.
When both sides informed the Tala Upazila UNP, Sheikh Russel about the incident, he sentenced journalist Tipu to 10 days in prison under Section 186 and fined him Tk 200 after taking the testimony of the workers and locals present on the spot. In the wake of this, the journalist community in Bangladesh including Tala was outraged. News against UNO Sheikh Md. Russel was published in the country's first-class national and regional newspapers. And the next day, human chains and memorandums were presented all over the country including Tala and Satkhira. In the face of a 24-hour ultimatum given by the journalists, the Satkhira High Court released him on bail.
Meanwhile, with the support of the Upazila Executive Officer, a Mabon Bandhan was organized in favor of the UNO with all the officials, employees and political party leaders of Tala Upazila level.
On Tuesday, April 29, at 5 pm, Executive Officer Sheikh Md. Russell organized a discussion meeting with journalists at the Upazila meeting room. However, mainstream journalists boycotted the discussion meeting.
