Wife killed by husband's stick at Amtali

In Barguna's Amtali, within eight months of their marriage, the husband beat his wife to death in an argument over her addiction to extramarital affairs.
The name of the deceased wife is Tinni (20). Tinni is the daughter of Nizam Uddin of Chandra village of Chawra Union.
The incident took place in Tarikata village of Arpangasiya Union of Amtali. The accused husband's name is Monirul Islam. Autorickshaw driver by profession. His father's name is Haroon Khan.
Accused husband Monirul's cousin Noore Alam said that they got married eight months ago. The deceased Tinni became addicted to witchcraft for some time.
This leads to family turmoil between them. A family meeting was held about this last 4/5 days ago. Although he admitted that such an incident will not happen again in the meeting, he spoke to the boy on the phone today, Tuesday, December 3. At 5:30 in the evening, Monirul and Tinni had a fight. At one stage of the quarrel, the husband hit Monirul Tinni on the head. After that Monirul and his mother took him to the Amtali Health Complex in an injured condition and the doctor on duty declared Tinni dead.
Hearing about Tinni's death from the doctor, husband Monirul tried to run away and the locals caught him and informed the police.
Amtali Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Arifur Rahman said that the police were sent on receiving the news of the incident and the accused husband Monirul was arrested. The body will be sent to Barguna General Hospital for post-mortem after post-mortem report.
