Press confce to protest against attempt by influential groups to seize property of several people in Kaliganj

In Kaliganj, Satkhira, influential people are allegedly threatening to forcibly occupy 53 percent of the property acquired by several individuals, including an elderly person, based on registered donation documents. Jagabandhu Das (67), son of the late Bishtupada Das of Chanchai village in Kaliganj upazila, made this allegation at a press conference at the Abdul Motaleb auditorium of Satkhira Press Club on Thursday noon.
In his written statement, he said that in 2013, he (Jagabandhu) and Sandhya Rani Das and Md. Shahjalal received 53 acres of land at S, A 579, 576, 561, 612 and 518 from one Shastri Kumar Das on the basis of registration number 4519. The said property is in peaceful possession with all the land documents including mutation prepared in their name. But recently, Rashid Dhali (65), Idris Ali Dhali (54), Razzak Dhali (50), Rezaul Karim Dhali (45) and Yasin Ali Dhali (48) sons of the deceased Rustom Dhali of Parulgach village in Kaliganj upazila, Tamim Hossain (17) son of Rezaul Karim, Taslima Khatun (40) wife of Rezaul Karim, Rabiul Islam Kotu (50) son of Md. Jamat Ali Gazi, Abu Raihan (28) son of Gias Uddin and Raihan's wife Ayesha Siddiquia (24), Raknuzzaman (38) son of Ma Rafiqul Islam of Bhadrakhali village, Kakuli (50) wife of Yasin Dhali of Chanchai village, Jahangir Dhali (42) son of Razzak Dhali, Nila Rani Das (52) wife of the deceased Joydev Das and Dr. Jalil's wife Firoza Khatun (42) is threatening us in various ways for the forcible seizure of the said land.
They are even threatening to kill us. As a result, we are all suffering from extreme insecurity.
Jagabandhu Das further said that after this incident, he filed a general diary with Kaliganj Police Station on April 21 as a complainant.. Even then, the mentioned individuals have continued to forcibly occupy our property and are trying to cause damage in various ways.
