Staff Correspondent
Awami League General Secretary and Road, Transport and Bridge Minister Obaidul Quader has said, currently, our country is facing an economic crisis, but we are not accountable for this situation.
He said there is an impact on commodity prices due to the shaky world economic situation. But the government is working to keep the price of goods under control.
Quader made these comments at a press briefing held at the Awami League President Sheikh Hasina's political office in Dhanmondi on Saturday.
He said when BNP was in power, there was load shedding for 18 hours a day. BNP increased electricity prices nine times in five years. Now we have to pay a substantial subsidy on electricity. We want to coordinate this subsidy. If you want to enjoy electricity benefits, you have to coordinate.
Quader said an election was held in the country. They (BNP) did not participate. In the name of movement, they committed arson terror across the country. People will not forget the 28 October incident. BNP's movement has repeatedly shown how dangerous it can be. People understood the meaning of their movement. They failed in the past because there was no public involvement.
