A delegation led by Kate Griffiths , Advisor to the Danish Institute for Human Rights, paid a courtesy call on Dhaka University Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) Professor Dr. Abdus Salam at his office on Monday morning.

Selma Yahic, Project Controller, Danish Institute for Human Rights, and Mohammad Ainul Islam, Director of the Applied Democracy Lab and Professor of the Department of Political Science, Dhaka University, were present at the event.

During the meeting, various issues related to human rights, sustainable development, and increasing civic engagement of students were discussed. In particular, the progress of ongoing collaborative initiatives aimed at increasing human rights awareness among young people, developing leadership, and ensuring their effective participation in social change were reviewed.

Recently, a joint project is being implemented in collaboration with the Danish Institute for Human Rights to increase the knowledge and awareness of students on human rights. Through this project, various trainings, workshops and participatory activities are being organized. Through this, initiatives have been taken to make young people more aware of human rights and social responsibility. The main goal of this project is to increase the involvement of young people in human rights and sustainable development and to develop them as active partners in social change.

Dhaka University Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) Professor Dr. Abdus Salam highlighted the importance of such international cooperation in establishing human rights and social justice. He reiterated Dhaka University's commitment to developing human values and leadership qualities among students and welcomed such initiatives.

At the end of the meeting, both sides expressed hope for closer cooperation in the future in human rights education, research, youth leadership development, and social development activities.
