Varendra University to create employment  thru' international standard training

To create skilled manpower for the domestic and international labor market and increase the employment opportunities of graduates, Barendra University is launching international standard ICT skills and Japanese language training programs under the Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Program (SICIP) . 
 
To this end, an agreement has been signed between the Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Program and Barendra University. The agreement was signed on Tuesday  noon in University's board room.
 
Present at the agreement signing ceremony on behalf of CCIP were  Mohammad Walid Hossain (Additional Secretary and Executive Program Director), Mr. Mainul Hasan (Joint Secretary and Deputy Executive Program Director), Dr. Md. Matiur Rahman (Deputy Secretary and Assistant Executive Program Director) and Mr. Maureen Karim (Deputy Secretary and Assistant Executive Program Director). Present on behalf of Barendra University were the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof Dr. Md. Khademul Islam Molya, Executive Director Md. Shamim Ahsan Parvez, Visiting Professor of Public Health Program, Dr. Md. Munsur Ahmed, along with the Deans and Heads of Departments of various faculties. The program was conducted by the Registrar of the university, Lt. Col. Md. Khaled Bin Yusuf (Retd.).

The program, funded by the Asian Development Bank, will provide training in cloud computing, data engineering, artificial intelligence and machine learning, and network administration. 
 
The training program will run from October 2026 to July 2028. A total of 1,200 trainees will have the opportunity to participate in it. Of these, 450 will receive training from the Rajshahi center and 750 from the Dhaka center.
 
The Vice Chancellor of the university said in his speech, the opportunities for skill development of ICT graduates from the northern region, including Rajshahi, are relatively limited. 
 
Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Mr. Mohammad Walid Hossain, said in his speech, "Students should not only acquire academic knowledge, but also acquire the necessary skills according to the needs of the workplace.
