21 DU students get  trust fund scholarships

Some 21 students from different departments of Dhaka University have received Trust Fund scholarships. Out of these, 14 students have been awarded 'Aminur Rahman Khan Memorial Scholarship' and 7 students have been awarded 'Professor Shaheen Ahmed and Kazi Anwar Ahmed Trust Scholarship'.
 
 These scholarships were awarded through separate programs in the meeting room adjacent to the Vice-Chancellor's office today, Wednesday, September 9, 2026. Professor Shaheen Ahmed and Kazi Anwar Ahmed Trust Scholarships were awarded at 10 am and Aminur Rahman Khan Memorial Scholarships were awarded at 10:30 am.

Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof  Dr. ABM Obaidul Islam was present as the chief guest at both the events. University Treasurer Prof Dr. M. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury presided over the event. In addition, Dean of the Faculty of Arts Prof Dr. Md. Abul Kalam Sarkar, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences Prof Mohammad Kazi Mahbubur Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Science Prof Dr. Md. Mofazzal Hossain, Chairman of the Department of Anthropology Prof Dr. Md. Rafiul Islam, Chairperson of the Department of Music Dr. Priyanka Gop, Acting Registrar Munshi Shams Uddin Ahmed, Donor Member of the Department of Anthropology Retired Professor Dr. Shahin Ahmed and concerned persons were present at the event.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. ABM Obaidul Islam said, "It is our moral responsibility to stand by talented students. The financial assistance being provided to students through the Trust Fund will play an important role in ensuring their academic life is uninterrupted and in developing their talent and talent.

The scholarship recipients for the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 academic years are: Md. Hanif Ali and Sadia Afrin from the Department of History; Arpita Chowdhury and Upma Barman from the Department of Music; Sadia Tasnim and Nusrat Jahan from the Department of Political Science; Md. Sumi Akhter and Rayyan Mahmud Pratik from the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Sciences; Md. Atiqur Rahman and HM Taifur Rahman from the Department of Fisheries Science; Md. Rakib Hasan and Mahmudul Haque from the Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology; and Zarrin Tahsin Anjum and Md. Ripon Hossain from the Department of Nuclear Engineering. A total of 14 students received this scholarship in the two academic years.
