Abdul Momen Road from the area adjacent to the stadium of ward number 5 of Lalmohan Municipality to the door of Imam Saheb's house on the east side. This unpaved road, only half a kilometer long, is in bad condition.
That road is 25 years old. In these long 25 years, the road has not been renovated anywhere. As a result, large potholes have been created in various places on the road. Even with a little rain, it becomes knee-deep in water. This water remains day after day. Due to the fragile condition of the road, vehicles cannot ply properly. This causes endless suffering to hundreds of people traveling on that road. The locals could not remove this misery of the road even after contacting various places one after another.
Local residents Maulana Md. Nurullah and Md. Shahe Alam said, our municipality is first-class. It is only on paper and pen. Because the citizens of this municipality are deprived of many modern facilities. For example, Abdul Momen Road in Ward No. 5 of the municipality. This road was built 25 years ago.
After its construction, this road has not been renovated even once. The road has now become a thorn in the side of the locals. Large potholes have now formed in most places on the road. It is very difficult to move on this road during the monsoon. Because if it rains one day, water accumulates on the road day after day. As a result, there is no end to the suffering of the locals.
Therefore, I wish the concerned authorities to repair this road quickly. Md. Monir Hossain and Md. Abu Nayem, two other residents of the area, said that motorcycle accidents often occur due to the many potholes on the road. During the monsoon, children cannot be sent to school and madrasas. Besides, the residents of the area are exhausted by dust and sand during the summer. For which, the locals have appealed to the Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Municipal Administrator to renovate the Abdul Momen Road. We hope that he will take the necessary steps to renovate this road as soon as possible.
In this regard, Lalmohan Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Municipal Administrator Md. Shah Aziz said that it is not possible to repair or pave roads with the allocation available in the municipality.
However, considering the importance, a proposal has been sent to the concerned department to get allocation for repairing some roads. If the allocation is received, necessary steps will be taken to renovate that road along with other roads.
