UP member hacked to death in Jamalpur

Abdur Rahim, an UP Member (50) was hacked to death by a group of unidentified miscreants in Islampur, Jamalpur, posing as law enforcement officers at Jigatola, a remote area on the banks of the Jamuna in Charkulkandi Union, on the midnight of Sunday.
His father's name is Taybur Khandar. He was elected as a member of Ward No. 1 twice.
Abdur Rahim Member's relatives said that the administration personnel introduced themselves and took Abdur Rahim Member out of the house. Before he could realize anything, the miscreants randomly hacked him to death and fled after confirming his death.
UP Chairman Anisur Rahman said, "We are deeply saddened by the murder of Abdur Rahim. We demand a fair investigation and justice."
Islampur Police Station OC A.F.M. Atiqur Rahman said, the body was recovered at night and brought to the police station. It has been sent to Jamalpur for autopsy. A case has been registered.
