A man, Saiful (45), was stabbed to death by his brother-in-law in Kalai, Joypurhat at around 9 am on Monday in the Panchpaika Sarkarpara area of Kalai upazila.
The deceased was identified as Saiful Islam, son of Abul Kashem of Option village in Shibganj upazila of Bogra district.
Police and locals said that in the morning in Sarkarpara village of Paikpara in Kalai upazila, brother-in-law Saiful Islam was talking to his brother-in-law Jewel Hossain about a family matter when Jewel stabbed his brother-in-law. At that time, Saiful Islam fell to the ground with bloody wounds and died on the spot.
Kalai Police Station OC Zahid Hasan said the body was recovered from the scene and sent to the Joypurhat 250-bed General Hospital morgue for an autopsy. The murderer's brother-in-law has been taken into police custody.
