The cover of the book titled ‘Theories and Doctrines of Anthropology’ written by former Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University and founding chairman of the Department of Anthropology, Prof Dr. Anwarullah Chowdhury was unveiled.

On this occasion, on Thursday at a function organized at the Prof Muzaffar Ahmed Chowdhury Auditorium, Dhaka University, Prof Dr. Mamun Ahmed was present as the chief guest. This unveiling ceremony was organized by the Department of Anthropology, Dhaka University.

Chaired by the Chairman of the Department of Anthropology, Prof Dr. Md. Rafiul Islam, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Professor Rasheda Irshad Nasir spoke as the special guest at the function. In addition, the author of the book, Prof Dr. Anwarullah Chowdhury, spoke about the background of the book. Teachers from various departments, including the Department of Anthropology, spoke about the colorful life of the writer.

Dhaka University Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) Prof Dr. Mamun Ahmed said, Professor Dr. Anwarullah Chowdhury is a freedom fighter and a politically conscious person. He is a teacher and researcher with many qualities. His writings are as creative as they are multidimensional. He said, this book by Professor Dr. Anwarullah Chowdhury, written in Bengali, will play an important role in the country's higher education.

It is worth noting that Prof Dr. Anwarullah Chowdhury, former Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University and founding Chairman of the Department of Anthropology, is a distinguished educationist, anthropologist and writer. In addition to teaching at Dhaka University for 42 years, he successfully held various important positions in the state. He has written about 24 books including numerous research articles.

'Ananya Prakashani' has published the book. The book, written in four chapters, discusses in detail the evolutionary theory, the diffusionist theory, the functionalist theory, and the culture and personality theory.
