The body of an unidentified man has been found floating in a pond in Bilasdi area of Narsingdi town. Police of Narsingdi Model Police Station recovered his body from the pond around 9am on Tuesday. The deceased is believed to be 42 years old.

The pond is located between the boundary wall of the Narsingdi Deputy Commissioner's Office and the railway line. While walking along the railway line, some locals saw his body floating in the middle of the pond and informed the police.

Locals said this morning a few locals were walking along the railway line when they saw a body floating in the middle of the pond. When the news spread, a lot of people gathered around. The locals informed the Narsingdi Model Police Station about this. Later, Sub-Inspector Abdul Alim came to the spot and recovered the body. After preparing the inquest report, the body of the man was sent to the morgue of Narsingdi Sadar Hospital.

Sub-inspector Abdul Alim said no signs of injuries were found on the body of the deceased. It is believed that he may have fallen into the pond due to illness or some other reason and died. However, the details will be known after receiving the autopsy report. He was wearing jeans and a white half-sleeved shirt.

Narsingdi Model Police Officer in Charge (OC) said. Sawgatul Alam said efforts were being made to recover the name and identity of the deceased. At present his body is kept in the morgue of Narsingdi Sadar Hospital. The next legal action will be taken after receiving the autopsy report.
