Unauthorized rod-laden truck seized in Hatirjheel following prompt action by Ansar
Staff Correspondent
Members of the Bangladesh Ansar intercepted an unauthorized heavy truck carrying iron rods inside the Hatirjheel project area on Sunday evening, where heavy vehicle movement is strictly prohibited.
Following directives from Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (RAJUK) authorities, the vehicle's documents and the driver's license were handed over to traffic police, resulting in a Tk 5,000 fine.
The incident occurred at around 5:35 PM near the Rampura section of the RAJUK Hatirjheel Project, under the jurisdiction of the Dhaka Metropolitan Ansar (DMA) West Zone.
Ansar members Md. Kamal Hossain and Md. Rejadul, deployed at the Rampura duty post, signaled the unauthorized truck to halt upon observing its entry into the restricted zone. Defying the signal, the driver attempted to flee by speeding toward the Mahanagar East area.
The on-duty personnel alerted a mobile patrol team, following which APC Md. Borhan, alongside Ansar members Md. Mizanur Rahman and Md. Tamim, pursued and intercepted the vehicle in the Mahanagar East sector, detaining the driver.
Upon being notified, RAJUK authorities instructed the Ansar team to transfer the truck’s registration papers and driver’s license to an on-duty traffic sergeant in Tejgaon. The traffic police subsequently issued a Tk 5,000 traffic violation fine against the vehicle.
