
Two newspaper offices in Dhaka come under attack

An unidentified group attacked the offices of two newspapers in Dhaka on Sunday.
The first incident occurred at 4pm at The Daily Star Centre on Kazi Nazrul Islam Avenue, where bricks and stones were hurled at the building.
Later in the evening, another attack was reported at the Desh Rupantor newspaper office in Banglamotor.
Sources said, the attack on The Daily Star coincided with a clash between law enforcement, ruling party members, and protestors on Kazi Nazrul Islam Avenue.
The assailants smashed the glass doors and panels on the ground floor of The Daily Star Centre before leaving the area after around 45 minutes.
Around 7pm, another group of unidentified individuals attacked Rupayan Tower in Banglamotor, which houses the Desh Rupantor office on the sixth floor. The attackers broke some glass on the ground floor before dispersing.
No injuries were reported in either incident, and authorities are investigating the motives behind these attacks.
