Two-day International Multifaith Workshop ends at DU

The closing ceremony of the two-day International Multifaith Workshop aimed at building an inclusive society and fostering religious harmony was held at the Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Building, Dhaka University on Tuesday.
Religious Adviser Dr. A. F. M. Khalid Hossain was the chief guest at the event and Dhaka University Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) Prof Dr. Mamun Ahmed was present as the special guest. The workshop was jointly organized by the Dhaka University Center for Interfaith and Intercultural Dialogue, the US-based Multi-Faith Neighbors Network (MFNN), and the Bangladesh Institute of Islamic Thought (BIIT).
The convener of the workshop organizing committee and Director of the Center for Interfaith and Intercultural Dialogue, Professor Dr. The event was presided over by Prof. Dr. Naqib Mohammad Nasrullah, Vice Chancellor of Islamic University, Prof. Dr. Md. Abu Sayem, Chairman of the Department of World Religions and Culture, Dhaka University, Prof. Dr. Sukomal Barua, Supernumerary Professor of the Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies, Prof. Dr. Anisuzzaman, Retired Professor of the Department of Philosophy, and Advocate AKM Mojibur Rahman, Senior Lawyer of the Supreme Court, spoke at the event.
Religious Adviser Dr. AFM Khalid Hossain said that there is extraordinary harmony among people of all religions in Bangladesh. He called on everyone to build a society without discrimination by upholding human values and showing mutual respect and love.
Prof. Dr. Mamun Ahmed called on everyone to work from their respective positions to strengthen social unity and harmony. He said that everyone should strive to remove differences and divisions among people. This should be practiced in personal life as well.
