Construction of 3rd academic nuilding to begin by May-June: NSTU VC

The construction of the third academic building at Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU) is expected to begin by May-June this year, according to the university's Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Muhammad Ismail.
He said this on Tuesday during a discussion meeting with class representatives (CRs), various clubs, organizations, and coordinators of anti-discrimination movements at the university. The meeting, held at the Birshreshtha Shaheed Mohammad Ruhul Amin Auditorium, focused on various academic issues of the university. The session was presided over by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Muhammad Ismail.
During the discussion, the Vice-Chancellor stated, "To address students’ accommodation problems, we have undertaken initiatives to construct several new dormitories. We will take all necessary steps to establish the campus as a centre of excellence. Additionally, through the HEAT project, we aim to elevate the university’s education and research standards. We also strive to improve the university’s ranking."
He further added, "I pray for the forgiveness of those who were martyred in the movement of 2024 and wish a speedy recovery for the injured. We are currently working on ensuring students’ mental health well-being. For this, we have already provided first-aid boxes in residential halls and are working on additional support, including appointing new personnel.
Addressing students’ queries, the Vice-Chancellor mentioned, "We have already established an Animal Research Center to enhance research opportunities. We are emphasizing international collaboration and are working with renowned universities worldwide, which will help strengthen global connections for our faculty and students. We have arranged training programs for officers and staff to ensure better service. Through the 'Meet the Vice-Chancellor' program, we are encouraging the intellectual development of students."
He also announced, "We will soon implement a digital attendance system to streamline the university’s administrative activities. Additionally, in the future, we will ensure that dormitory seats are allocated transparently based on merit. Starting from the next academic year, 10% of dormitory seats will be reserved for new students.
At the end of the Q&A session, the Vice-Chancellor sought cooperation from all stakeholders in advancing the university and appreciated their valuable suggestions.
Among others, it was addressed by the university's Pro Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Rezwanul Haque, and Treasurer, Professor Dr. Mohammad Hanif. The session was moderated by NSTU Proctor, A.F.M. Arifur Rahman. The meeting was attended by deans of various faculties, directors of institutes, department chairpersons, provosts of halls, heads of offices, faculty members, students, officers, and staff.
