Two brokers jailed for one month  in Ansar drive at Turag BRTA office

Staff Correspondent

A mobile court supported by Ansar personnel conducted a sudden raid on the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) Dhaka Metro-03 Circle Office in Turag on Tuesday afternoon, detaining two brokers and sentencing them to one month of simple imprisonment each.

The special drive was launched under Executive Magistrate Court-06 around 1:00 PM to curb broker interference and prevent public harassment at the government service office.

During the drive, an on-duty Ansar team led by PC Md. Opu Sarowar, alongside members Md. Jahid Hasan and Md. Idris Ali, apprehended Aslam Hossain, 49, and Rajib, 23, red-handed from the premises. Unauthorized documents related to vehicle registration, fitness certificates, and ownership transfers were recovered from their possession.

The detainees were produced before Executive Magistrate Md. Aslam Hossain, who found them guilty upon hearing and sentenced both individuals to one month of simple imprisonment in a mobile court summary trial. The convicts were subsequently handed over to local police for further legal proceedings.

Service seekers present at the BRTA office commended the proactive role of the Ansar members, noting that such prompt law enforcement actions maintain discipline and deter unauthorized brokers in public service facilities.
