
Trap ropes for deer hunting, two boats recovered in Western Sundarbans

In an operation under the Satkhira Range of the Forest Department, 600 pieces of trap ropes used for deer hunting and two boats abandoned by poaching groups were recovered in the Western Sundarbans.
On Tuesday noon, these trap ropes and boats were seized from the Tater Khal area of the Sundarbans.
According to sources at the Burigoalini Forest Station, during a regular patrol coordinated between Forest Department personnel and CPG members, led by Burigoalini Station Officer Ziaur Rahman, 600 pieces of trap ropes set by deer poachers were confiscated in the Tater Khal area of the Sundarbans.
At the same time, two boats abandoned by the poaching group upon noticing the presence of forest officials were also seized. Ismail Hossain, CPG Team Leader, stated that while patrolling the Sundarbans, the poaching group managed to escape after realizing the presence of forest department members.
Regarding this matter, Burigoalini Forest Station Officer Ziaur Rahman said that 600 pieces of trap ropes set by poachers and two abandoned boats have been recovered. Legal action will be taken in this case.
