
Tk 50,000 fined for excavating soil from agricultural land in Louhajang

The administration has halted the excavation of soil from agricultural land in Karpasha Chak, near Goalimandra in Louhajang, Munshiganj, where ponds and pockets were being created.
Following the directives of UNO Md. Nesar Uddin, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Abdullah Al Imran intervened, stopping the illegal excavation and imposing a fine.
UNO Md. Nesar Uddin said , "Excavation of soil from agricultural land is strictly prohibited. Upon being informed about the matter, I immediately instructed the Assistant Commissioner (Land) to take action.
Accordingly, necessary measures have been taken, and the excavation has been stopped."
Regarding the issue, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Abdullah Al Imran said, "Upon learning about the excavation, we took immediate action. The landowner has been fined Tk 50,000 and instructions have been given to halt further excavation. If the order is violated, further legal actions will be taken."
It is mentioned, on last Sunday, land owner Haji Matiur Rahman was excavating soil from agricultural land to create ponds and pockets without permission. As a result, he was fined and the excavation was stopped.
