Three killed in road accidents at Gabtoli in city

Three people killed in two separate road accidents at Gabtoli in the capital.

In one of the accidents, Shafiqul Islam Sujon, 47, and Abul Hashem, 38, died. Besides, one Babul, 40, died in another separate road accident in the same area on the same day.

At about 5:30am on Wednesday (June 12), motorcycle riders Shafiqul and Hashem were killed being rammed by a speeding truck on the road in front of Ruposhi Bangla Hotel at Gabtoli.

At about 6:30am on that day, one Babul, 40, a bus staff, was killed being hit by a CNG-run autorickshaw near European University in Gabtoli.

Darus Salam Police Station inspector (Operations) Md Asaduzzaman confirmed it.

He said three people died in two separate road accidents at Gabtoli area. However, though one was killed on the spot just after the accident, two died while underwent treatment at the hospitals. Among them, Babul died at Neuroscience Hospital at Agargaon after being admitted there with injuries.

The inspector also said between the two motorcycle riders, one was driver and other was passenger. Driver Shafiqul died on the spot during the accident, while passenger Abul Hashem died at Shaheed Suhrawardi Hospital later on.

The bodies of three deceased were sent to the Shaheed Suhrawardi Hospital morgue for postmortem on completion of legal processes, the police official said.
