
Three former Chhatra League leaders arrested in Lalmonirhat for anti-govt campaign

Three former leaders of the banned student organization Chhatra League have been arrested in Lalmonirhat for allegedly running anti-government campaigns on social media.
The DB police detained them during raids in the town’s hospital and Jummapara areas on Friday evening and night.
Those arrested are—Ershadul Karim, former vice-chairman of the Sadar Upazila Parishad; Mosharraf Hossain Mamun, former organizing secretary of the Sadar Upazila Chatra League; and Rony Islam, a former member of the same unit.
Lalmonirhat Police Superintendent Tariqul Islam said, these individuals were spreading misleading information against the government to create public unrest. Ershadul Karim, who once served as an assistant to ex-MP Motiur Rahman, is also accused of involvement in corruption and terrorist activities.
